Caregiver Journal Community Standards

At the Senior Information & Assistance Caregiver Journal Site, we take great pride in building and maintaining an online community that acts as a source of support for caregivers. A space where the daily accounts of the trials and tribulations as well as the successes and satisfaction of caregivers can be shared in a diverse, intelligent and respectful dialog. The following Community Standards outline what we feel are appropriate guidelines to preserve the highest quality online experience. Thanks for doing your part in helping to keep the Senior Information & Assistance Caregiver Journal Site a great place where caregivers connect.

By using The Caregiver Journal Site, you automatically signify your agreement with the following Community Standards and Terms of Use

General Principles

We expect that all users of the Senior Information & Assistance Caregiver Journal Site will behave in a way that reflects the respectful nature of this site. We’re a community of  people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives on life. We expect our members to respect that at all times and make a sincere effort to contribute their thoughts in a meaningful and respectful manner. Posting to a journal is completely optional; many prefer to just read what others have to say.

The following categories of online conduct are unacceptable and constitute a violation of our Community Standards which may result in warning and suspension of journalling privileges:

  • HarrassmentHarassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. Though we realize that discussions can get intense, we have zero tolerance for taking any communication to an insulting level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts towards community members can also constitute harassment.
  • Vulgarity and Sexual Explicitness …As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases. We realize that there's a "grey area" of judgement with vulgarity but we ask that you'll respect others by avoiding vulgarity.
  • Solicitation… Refrain from using the Caregiver Journal Site to advertise your site, items for sale, commercial services or website. You may attach a short link to your site within your profile or signature.
  • Copyrighted Material …You may post links to appropriate articles but posting articles from other sources in their entirety is a violation of our Community Standards. Use your best judgement, since you agree in the Terms of Use to be held legally responsible for your own posts on this system, but if you must repost quotes or sentences, please credit the source.

Please bear in mind that these are only guidelines; there is always a "grey area" and we understand that. Use your best judgment. If you have any questions about our Community Standards as they apply to specific cases, you can always Contact Us

Thanks for reading our Community Standards! Now, we invite you to join our community of Caregiver Journals!
